Veerappan and Rajkumar

Then Rajkumar favoured amnesty for Veerappan. He had also said Veerappan took great care of him. Now he says "the beast is gone", and expresses happiness in Veerappan's death. ( BBC reports that a leading human rights group has asked for an inquiry into the killing. )

I definately think the killing was an encounter. But What can we say the forest will be safer without him.

Perhaps the killing was a "fake" encounter. We do not know for certain. Right, forest will be safer without him. But for that jailing him was enough. Definitely his "civilian" friends are safer with a dead Veerappan. Veerappan produced in court would have been a nightmare to many of them.
